Long Beach, California!
Hosted by legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth, you will experience a seminar that enriches not only your musical skills but also your mind and soul. The core of Sky Academy is the philosophy of the "7 Spheres of Awareness" – “exploring our personal connection to music and its expression through our instruments”.
At the heart of this seminar is the electric guitar, the incredible versatile instrument which Uli has mastered to perfection. At the new Sky Haven venue in Long Beach Uli Jon Roth will share his profound secrets on transcending mere practice to achieve a quantum leap in one’s musical abilities. Uli shows us that it’s not about the quantity, but the quality of practice time.
As a guitarist and musician, you will learn to enhance your abilities, and the seminar will reveal new musical horizons to you. We will also devote some time to the art of improvisation and how to structure a guitar lead, to achieve top quality like a composer might do.
You will also get the chance to play in front of Uli Jon Roth and receive his critique and suggestions, both of which are always highly accurate and constructive. No one will walk away empty-handed from this, because Uli’s knowledge of the instrument and music in general are seemingly boundless. His teachings are always inspirational and to the point.
Uli Jon Roth will also analyze and deconstruct several of his most famous guitar solos, helping you to unleash your own creativity and refine your musical expression. By studying Uli's challenging and unique guitar leads, you will discover new ways to expand your own musical language and technique.
As always at Sky Academy Uli will invite special guest artists to participate and contribute to the teaching and music making. As a very special treat, Boris Dommenget, the genius luthier who builds all the authentic Sky Guitars for Uli will participate and set up shop at the seminar to service your guitars and set them up perfectly for you. Several of you are already proud owners of Sky Guitars and since Boris is based in Germany, this is an extremely rare opportunity to meet the father of your Sky Guitar(s). There will also be a session devoted to unlocking the secrets of the Sky Guitar, including the use of Uli’s favourite amps and pedals.

Morning Session: "IN SEARCH OF THE ALPHA LAW"
10:00 am - 12:30 pm: Welcome and introduction by Uli
Uli introduces his new Sky Academy book “In Search of the Alpha Law” .
This serves as a foundation for the teaching.Awakening our powers and honing our talent. Connecting deeply with the music.
Getting our minds "in tune" to achieve maximum potential.1:00 pm: Lunch Break (a tasty vegetarian lunch is being served – tea and coffee are available all day)
Afternoon Session: "SKY GUITAR MASTER CLASS"
2:30 pm: SKY GUITAR MASTER CLASS – Uli demonstrates various of his most important techniques
and shows how it is done in slow motion. This includes finger style picking and rhythm guitar techniques.15-minute break
4:00 pm: Students are playing and Uli offers his suggestions for improvement.
Evening Session: "LEARNING HOW TO ENTER THE ALPHA ZONE – PART I"
5:00 pm: Uli teaches how to best approach tuning your own mind - relaxation – meditation – concentration. Those are the most important key elements to mastering any craft.
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm: After a light dinner: Socializing - a podium discussion about topics of concern or significance to us – anyone can join and no topic is excluded (within reason).
It has always been an important part of the spirit of Sky Academy to foster communication between both, like-minded and different-minded participants of our seminars.

Morning Session: "Studying Uli’s Most Important Guitar Leads"
10:00 am - 12:30 pm: studying several of Uli’s greatest guitar leads in detail – Each of his leads is a musical gemstone in itself.
And these provide an excellent roadmap for attaining guitar mastery. Students may also perform these leads themselves.
Lunch Break:
1:00 pm: Lunch Break (A delectable vegetarian lunch is being served – tea and coffee are available all day)
Afternoon Session: "THE ART OF IMPROVISATION – COMPOSITION ON THE FLY"
2:30 pm: “THE ART OF IMPROVISATION – COMPOSITION ON THE FLY”

Evening Session: "HARNESSING THE POWER OF INSPIRATION"

Optional Day: Band Rehearsals Observation
This is an optional day for those who still have time on their hands.
Uli is having rehearsals with his band for the US tour – you are allowed to observe if you wish. A rare opportunity to see and hear Uli
directing his band at a rehearsal. Be a witness and see how first class musicians are practicing for a live set.
